Quiet Airports: Improve Passenger Well-Being by Reducing Noise Pollution
Airports are bustling hubs of activity with a constant barrage of announcements through PA systems. This stimulus can overwhelm travelers, exacerbating stress and fatigue. Quiet Airports understand how, when, where, and at what volume to route communications so that passengers arrive to their gates on time and without information overload.
Learn how to mitigate noise pollution while still ensuring effective communication throughout the terminal. The Quiet Airport concept is taking off in airports globally, and this is just the guide to help you get started!

Proactively Detect Threats & Risks
Prevent risks from becoming incidents and incidents from becoming tragedies by proactively monitoring both public and restricted areas for slip/fall hazards, medical emergencies, weapons, unauthorized persons, and other dangers and security concerns.

Reach People Wherever They Are
Loudspeakers designed for every budget and any environment allow communications to be heard and understood regardless of location. Indoor, outdoor, in ceiling, on walls, and hanging, too, these loudspeakers have been put to the test in airports globally! EN54-24 approved loudspeakers are also available.

Intelligibility Standards

Mission-critical voice communications systems must meet intelligibility standards and provide confirmation that announcements are sent. Within NFPA 72 (National Fire Protection Association), specific requirements for communication must be met. A mass notification and voice EVAC system must provide for Acoustically Distinguishable Spaces (ADS) as well as meet the Sound Transmission Index for Public Address (STI-PA.) Together, these performance standards help to achieve intelligibility and other requirements within NFPA 72.
An AtlasIED system exceeds these standards with:
- Pre-assembled, highly-intelligible announcements.
- Automation for multiple announcements to be sent simultaneously into separate zones.
- Environmental noise analysis that adjusts the sound level in real-time based upon environment noise and ensures the level is high enough to be heard without being annoyingly loud.
- System supervision that monitors the systems integrity and reports any faults.
- Announcement logging to confirm messages were sent.
